~ Faculty Research Program ~

The Lutheran College Washington Semester offers a unique program for the faculty of our member college or universities.  We allow faculty to stay in our condos during the summer in order to do research for projects they are working on.  Below is a list of the guidelines to the program.  If you meet these criteria and would be interested in doing research in Washington, DC, please fill out an application.  The application can be obtained by clicking on the link above or by contacting Dr. Nancy Joyner, Dean of the LCWS at dean@washingtonsemester.org.

  1. Guidelines for the Faculty Research Program at the Lutheran College Washington Semester:

  2. Faculty must come during May 15th and August 15th of the calendar year.

  3. Faculty member must stay at least two weeks and no longer then four weeks during one stay.

  4. Check-in must be during LCWS office hours, M-F 9am to 5pm.

  5. There is a $100 cleaning fee.

  6. No children under the age of 18 are allowed to stay in the condo.

  7. You must sign a release form before moving in which can be attained through the LCWS staff.

  8. You must teach or work at one of the 13 LCWS member schools.

  9. No groups allowed.

  10. You must notify the LCWS staff of all people staying in the condo.

  11. If you are coming with a colleague, men & women are allowed to stay in the same condo.

  12. In order to use the pool or exercise room you must register with the building management which will be an additional $20 to $50 fee.

  13. The LCWS is not responsible for providing linens, pillows or blankets. The condo is fully furnished otherwise.  Please see our Condo Living page.

  14. You must complete the Faculty Research Application and have it signed by your LCWS campus representative.
