Dean's Requirements:

While attending the Lutheran College Washington Semester, students are required to complete the Dean's Requirements.  These consist of a Congressional Committee Summary, a Protest or Demonstration Paper, and completing 12 hours of community service.

Mon., Jan. 16:       9:30 am - Orientation with LCWS staff and safety briefing with DC Metro Police officer

Wed., Jan. 18:     10 am - Tour of US Capitol Building

                            1:30 pm - Tour of US Supreme Court

Wed., Jan. 24:     9 pm - Watching State of the Union address in office (voluntary)

Wed., Jan. 25:      2 pm & 3 pm: Tour of N St Village

Wed., Feb 1:        3 pm - Panel discussion with service organizations

 Wed., Feb 8:        12 pm - Tour of Pentagon Building

                                3 pm - Briefing with Maurice Clemmons

Wed., Feb 15:        1:30 pm - Holocaust survivor briefing

                                   2:30 pm - Tour of US Holocaust Memorial Museum

Wed., Feb 22:    3 pm - Guest Speaker- Alejandro Beutal from Muslim Public Affairs Council

    Wed., Feb. 29: TBA

    Wed., March 7:     8:30 am - Tour of The White House

                                    Time TBA - Briefing with WH communication staff

    Wed., March 14:    Time TBA - Visit to the Eisenhower Institute

                            9:30 am - Orientation

                            First day of classes

    Tues., Jan. 17: First day of internship

    Mon., Feb. 20: President's Day (Holiday)

    Sun., April 8: Easter

    Fri., April 20: Last day of internship

    Sat & Sun, April 21 & 22: Semester ends / Students depart
