Faculty Research Program


The Lutheran College Washington Semester offers a unique program for faculty at our member schools.  We allow faculty to stay in our condos during the summer so they can conduct research related to their field of study.  Below please find a list of the guidelines for the program.


Guidelines for the LCWS Faculty Research Program:​

  • Faculty must book their stay between May 15th and August 15th of the calendar year.

  • Faculty member must stay for at least two weeks, but no longer than four weeks.

  • There is a $150 cleaning fee.

  • No children under the age of 18 are allowed to stay in the condo.

  • You must sign a release form before moving in, which will be provided by LCWS.

  • You must teach or work at one of the LCWS member schools.

  • No groups allowed.

  • You must notify LCWS in advance of all people staying in the apartment.

  • If you are coming with a colleague, men and women are allowed to stay in the same penthouse unit.

  • LCWS is not responsible for providing linens, pillows or blankets. The condo is fully furnished otherwise.  Please visit our Housing & Furnishings page for an overview of what is provided in our condos.

If you meet the criteria listed above and would be interested in conducting research in Washington, D.C., please complete the application form and submit it to Dean Hasecke by email, mail, or fax.  Your application must be signed by your LCWS Campus Representative prior to submission to LCWS.
